City of Broken Arrow Streets Rehabilitation Project @ SCF

The City of Broken Arrow held a public meeting on June 25th at Liberty Elementary to share details of the street rehabilitation project for Steeplechase Farms. The following were key highlights noted from that meeting.
Schedule/Timing - initial project estimate ~120 days
o Starts Aug 3rd and runs through the end of November, weather dependent
o Work will be done Monday-Friday from 7:00am to 5:30pm
o On average, each section will take no more than 5 days to complete - start to finish
Scope
o Cherokee Pride Construction was awarded the contract for the project.
o Various pavement sections will be removed and replaced with multiple levels of underlayment, aggregate rock, rebar support and cement applied -

o Includes specific sections of streets, curbs and stormwater drainage improvements
o Speed humps on 196th E Ave will be removed and will not be replaced. Required to initiate new request to get new ones.
o Section Seam Sealing – The project includes cleaning out and sealing the seams for ALL street sections and curbs.
Approach
o Plan is to begin with 39th St, starting from the East end and work their way to the West end.
o Work will be done on one side of the street at a time to always have one lane available for thru traffic.
o Homeowners will be required to park up/down the street if work is directly in front of their driveways.
o Work will be done from inside the addition and work their way out to the 3 entrances.
o Cherokee Pride should provide notice to homes impacted by construction activity 24-48 hours in advance.
Potential impacts
o Temporary traffic delays and lane closures.
o Restricted Parking on the street in designated areas with BA actively enforcing with tickets
o Construction equipment may be stored on the street after hours & weekends
o Trash service - BA Service will support trash cans placed outside of construction areas to be serviced. Contact your independent trash company to determine specific steps required.
o Post office delivery - temp mailboxes may be used when construction limits access to mailboxes
o BA School bus department is aware and will adjust routes accordingly to help navigate around areas

We're looking forward to not having to drive the obstacle course when leaving home or coming back on the neighborhood streets.
